All classes are taught by qualified teachers (all DBS approved) most coming from a professional dancing background. No lessons are taught by students as we believe in providing the highest standard of teaching for you and your children.
The Dance Factory Principal

Miss Katy

Miss Katy danced from a young age at a dance school in Wellingborough and at 16 attended Laine Theatre Arts, one of the top performing arts colleges in the country, graduating with a National Diploma in professional dance and top grade in her Associate teaching qualification in ISTD Modern and Tap. With many great experiences since leaving college, including travelling round the world dancing on a cruise ship, appearing in films, TV and touring with many shows overseas and in the UK. While living in the Cayman Islands Miss Katy taught at a fantastic dance school. It has always been Miss Katy’s dream to open her own dance school believing that there was a great need for a professional and caring school this side of Northamptonshire that could offer a variety of styles with exams, shows and festivals. Hence 'The Dance Factory' was born in 2006. Starting with only a few students, the school has grown, now teaching with over 200 students! Miss Katy works at many primary schools in Northamptonshire and also Southfield School for girls, teaching the gifted and talented students and helping them with their tour in the summer term. She taught the GCSE and A-level students in Contemporary and Jazz techniques before having her 2 gorgeous little boys! She is so proud of every student that has trained with her and misses every one of the girls and boys as they leave to go to university/work – although they often turn up at classes or come to help at the show!

Ballet Teacher

Miss Claire

Miss Claire studied ballet from the age of 3 and went on to study Modern, Jazz, Classical Greek and Contemporary. She regularly took part in competitions and competed at the All England Festival Finals on multiple occasions. At 18, Claire followed her passion of Ballet and began 4 years professional training at Ballet West Scotland. Claire joined Ballet West’s touring company and toured full length productions of The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake around Scotland and then China. After gaining her RAD Advanced 2 in Classical Ballet and BA(Hons) in Dance, Claire began her professional career with ‘The London Ballet Company’ and went on to perform around the UK and abroad. Since returning home, she has continued her training at The Royal Academy of Dance with the ‘Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies’ course and has loved being able to teach all age groups in two excellent local schools. She joined the Dance Factory in 2019 and is so pleased that her students bring their biggest smiles to her classes!

Miss Kitty

Kitty began dancing in Northamptonshire, at the age of 3, where she trained in RAD and ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz. She took her GCSE and A-Level dance exams 3 years early which is when she first discovered her love for Contemporary movement and choreography. Kitty was a member of the youth company at The Place, working with artists such as Theo Clinkard and Alleyne Dance.
Kitty competed in local dance festivals where she went onto win the All England Dance finals in the contemporary and character sections. She later won the bursary before leaving for professional training.
Kitty graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance with a First Class Honours degree. Whilst studying, she worked with Amaury Lebrun, The Hiccup Project and Joss Arnott. Kitty is a technical Contemporary dancer, interested in Cunningham and Release technique, and a passionate choreographer. She also uses yoga practice and her knowledge of the body-mind connection in her work and delivery.
Since graduating, Kitty has been delivering fitness, movement and choreography workshops to schools and is very excited to be joining the Dance Factory team.

Miss Kim

Miss Kim trained at London Studio Centre and obtained a Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre. She has appeared in various shows including pantomimes and summer seasons and has also made a few TV appearances. Her teaching experience has taken her to many local and UK dance schools and gyms, teaching children and adults in a variety of classes from Ballet, Jazz and Tap to Modern, Street and Indian dance. Miss Kim has also choreographed a number of shows both locally and around the country and has choreographed many of our solos and duets to take part in All England Dance Festivals. She took a break in 2015 to have her beautiful little girls but we are so happy that she has come back to teach for us again bringing our Mums and Tots classes to life with her wonderful style and encouragement.

Kiss Kerry

Miss Kerry danced since the age of 3 years old and started out at the Kilburn School of Dancing in Wellingborough. At aged 16 she took the big move to London as was extremely fortunate togain a Scholarship to continue her training at the London StudioCentre. She had the most amazing time working professionally on stage and screen and travelled the world doing what she loved. This experience gave her a wealth of knowledge that shebrings to the studio. She loves her job and after 19 years of teaching she just never tires of it. Miss Kerry belongs to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and as a professional body of teachers recognised worldwide, they strive to be the best and are constantly driven to +nd new and exciting ways toshare their passion, ensuring only the highest quality of teaching. She teaches tap, musical theatre, +tness, jazz and lyrical contemporary and all aspects of performing arts across Northamptonshire, in both the private sector and local schools, from early years foundation stage to teens to adults. When she is not dancing, she is a Mum to 2 lovely boys, so her days are o/, like most mums are busy, either spent on the Rugby pitch or running the house. Miss Kerry is so excited to be taking the parent and tots class at the Dance Factory and is looking forward to making these classes a fun and friendly experience and can’t wait to meet you all!

Miss Chloe

Miss Chloe has been dancing Ballet, Tap and Modern since the age of three. Her parents were professional Ballet dancers, so dance has always been a big part of her life. After studying Musical Theatre at a vocational college, she went to the prestigious Bird College for four years and gained a Degree in Dance and Theatre Performance. Miss Chloe was unable to pursue a professional career in dance, due to a back injury not long after graduating. However, this then took her into the world of treating, as a soft-tissue therapist, giving her a deeper understanding of the human body. After a couple of years, she realised she couldn’t live without dance in her life, so she completed her next ambition of becoming a qualified ISTD teacher. She has been teaching Modern, Tap and Musical Theatre since 2019. Miss Chloe has an energetic little boy who loves music and dancing.

Lewis Starr

Lewis has recently graduated from the prestigious Bird College in London where he received a first class honours degree in Professional dance and Musical Theatre. His professional credits whilst training include Max Bialiystock ‘The Producers’, George ‘The Wedding singer’, Porph ‘Airswimming’ and a featured singer across many London venues. Lewis has also performed at the ‘Dance Proms’ at the Royal Albert Hall. He is currently auditioning for professional jobs in London’s West End as well as teaching workshops around the country.

Miss Ashley

Miss Ashley started her training in Cambridgeshire and then went on to become a pre-senior at Central School of Ballet studying Vaganova technique and contemporary dance. She was also a student with the London Junior Ballet before auditioning for full time dance schools at the age of 16. Miss Ashley then continued her training at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts in Surrey graduating with a National Diploma in professional dance and her Associate teaching qualification in ISTD Imperial Ballet and RAD Ballet. Since graduating from college she has been lucky enough to have performed in various shows and productions both on stage and on television. These include pantomimes, fashion shows and films. Alongside professional work Miss Ashley has taught for a variety of schools. She is experienced in show/festival choreography and has coached for graded and major examinations. Miss Ashley was very excited to join The Dance Factory in 2011 and has made such a difference towards many of our students’ dancing journeys which is apparent from our wonderful RAD results.

Miss Susi

Susi started her dance training age three with Miss. Vivien Lowe, and took part in shows at Derngate and local theatres from the age of eight. She continued her I.S.T.D. Training after completing a Degree in Dance Studies, and completed her Associate and Certificate in Dance Education. Susi's dual training facilitated opportunities to teach G.C.S.E. and 'A' level dance, and choreograph for Youth Dance Groups as well as working for several dancing schools. Since starting her family, Susi has predominantly taught for Harborough Academy of Performing Arts and particularly enjoyed choreographing at Stowe School and at schools in Blisworth.

Miss Sarah

Sarah began dancing at the tender age of 4, initially studying Ballet and Tap but quickly adding other styles of dance plus drama and singing as her love of performing grew. When she was 16, Sarah went on to full time dance training where she gained her teaching qualifications. Following college were jobs as a magicians assistant, singer, and a couple of years touring Italy in the ballet of an operetta company. On her return to the UK she began teaching, and has over 20 years experience teaching all genres of dance in Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties, and is particularly interested in dance medicine and biology. She is very lucky to have taught alongside some highly renowned teachers and examiners gaining much from their knowledge and expertise.

Miss Siobhan

Miss Siobhan began her dancing life at age four learning Ballet and Tap in her local school. At the age of five she had her first experience onstage and there hasn’t been a year since that she hasn’t found herself performing somewhere around the world! She has trained and competed in a number of dance styles over the years, most notably in Irish Dancing where she earned both European and World Championship titles and even a World Record with the cast of Riverdance! Miss Siobhan went on to graduate from DeMontfort University with a BA Hons in Dance, and during this time found her passion for teaching and choreography. Since returning to Northamptonshire Miss Siobhan has taught at many dance and performing arts schools and provided choreography for a range of youth and adult productions and is currently working on the spring production of Shrek the Musical at the Lighthouse Theatre, Kettering.
Miss Siobhan loves occasionally joining the Dance Factory Team to cover teaching and to help out when needed.

Contemporary Dance Teacher

Miss Nikki

Nikki originally trained in gymnastics, competing at a national level before making a natural transition into dance. She followed her passion for contemporary dance by completing her professional training at Middlesex University, graduating in 2009 with a First Class BA Honours Degree in Dance Performance.
Nikki has performed with London based contemporary dance companies such as; Delve Dance Company and Shaded Voice Dance Company whilst working as a freelance dance artist; teaching contemporary classes and workshops in Northamptonshire. She is also running contemporary classes with her youth company ‘Spectrum Dance’ working closely alongside the Dance4 CAT Programme in Nottingham.
Since completing her teacher training (QTS) she is now a fully qualified dance teacher in secondary education and continues to teach contemporary classes for the wonderful Miss Katy and her talented dancers at The Dance Factory.

Miss Rhiann

Rhiann started dancing when she was 4 years old training in ballet, tap and modern. She fell in love with contemporary at the age if 16 and decided to obtain a degree in the subject. After 3 amazing years at Bath Spa University training in somatics, contact, technique, digital practice and performance she gained a variety of skills to pass on to future students. She has worked with the likes of James Wilton Dance Company, The Hiccup Project and Untold Dance Company and has had one of her pieces commissioned for the Holburne Museum in Bath.
Rhiann is currently a freelance teacher in Northamptonshire, working weekly with local primary schools to deliver a range of dance, PE, Drama, Musical Theatre and Circus classes. She also works closely with Southfield School for Girls and Bishop Stopford School delivering classes for seasonal shows.
Rhiann also delivers chair based dance classes in care homes, ensuring the older generation experience a healthier, fun-packed quality of life on a regular basis.

Miss Andrea

Miss Andrea started dancing and singing at the age of 4 and trained at Kilburn school of Dance in ballet, national, tap, modern, greek and contempory dance. Andrea won a scholarship and trained at London Studio Centre, specialising in musical theatre and obtaining a BA hons degree in Theatre Dance. Andrea’s theatre credits include: Dora in Murder for the Asking (Shanklin Theatre) Carrie in Carousel (Shanklin Theatre) Jenny in Muscles the Musical, (Landor Theatre, London), Build me a Bridge (Bridewell Theatre, London) 16 gobs and No Frills (Kings Head, London fringe theatre) Rememeber, Rememeber (Bridewell Theatre, London) Adderperle in The Wiz (National Tour) Cinderella in Cinderella (Castle Theatre, Wellingborough) Sound of Music (Theatre Royal, Northampton). Andrea also performed in cabaret clubs across London, pantomimes and was a lead vocalist in production shows overseas. Andrea is a qualified teacher in ISTD Ballet and National Dance and in further education. Andrea has taught in local dancing schools, colleges and stage schools and looks forward to teaching at The Dance Factory.
